Devil: Cosmos Devil
The Cosmos Fiend possesses the terrifying ability to flood her opponent's mind with infinite cosmic knowledge, effectively incapacitating them with overwhelming information. While her combat abilities are limited, her unique mental attack makes her a dangerous opponent in specific matchups. She serves as one of Hell's residents and demonstrated her power during the International Assassins arc.

Kobeni is a Public Safety Devil Hunter whose true power lies in her absurd, nearly supernatural luck. Despite being the most fearful and untrained member of Division 4, she consistently survives encounters that kill far stronger characters. Her erratic combat style makes her unpredictable, and she has demonstrated surprising agility when motivated by fear. She has no formal devil contract, making her feats purely her own.
Contract: Ghost Devil
Himeno is an experienced Public Safety Devil Hunter who contracts with the Ghost Devil. Her contract allows her to summon an invisible ghost hand that can grab, crush, and manipulate objects from a distance. She is Aki's mentor and a veteran hunter with years of field experience. The Ghost Devil's invisible attacks make her a dangerous opponent, though the contract requires her to offer body parts as payment over time.
Devil: Katana Devil
Katana Man is a hybrid who can transform his arms into bladed katanas. Like all hybrids, he possesses immense durability and regeneration, making him nearly impossible to kill permanently. He served as the primary antagonist of the Katana Man arc, attacking Division 4 in revenge for his grandfather's death. Devil: Violence Devil
The Violence Fiend is a masked powerhouse serving in Division 4. True to his name, he possesses immense physical strength and a violent combat style that makes him a formidable front-line fighter. Despite his terrifying appearance and abilities, he is surprisingly gentle when not provoked. His strength is respected by both allies and enemies, though his effectiveness is limited against more hax-based devil abilities.
Devil: Shark Devil
Beam is the Shark Fiend and a loyal ally of Denji. He possesses shark-like abilities including underwater breathing, enhanced swimming speed, and sharp teeth capable of tearing through devils. His aquatic combat skills make him exceptionally dangerous in water environments. Beam is fiercely loyal to the Chainsaw Man, viewing Denji as a hero figure. His unique physiology allows him to detect blood in water from great distances.
Devil: Angel Devil
The Angel Devil possesses one of the most dangerous abilities in Chainsaw Man — his touch can drain the lifespan of any living being, killing them instantly. Despite his angelic appearance, he is a genuine devil with immense destructive potential. He is a pacifist at heart and hates using his power. He allies with Aki Hayakawa and serves in Public Safety, where his ability proves invaluable against more powerful devils.
Devil: Blood Devil
Power is the Blood Fiend, a proud and arrogant devil hunter with the ability to manipulate blood. She can shape her blood into weapons, create blood shields, and even reconstruct her own body from blood reserves. Her Blood Devil form grants her immense regenerative capabilities and offensive power. Despite her claims of being the strongest, her effectiveness depends heavily on blood availability. Her loyalty to Denji becomes her greatest strength.

Aki Hayakawa is one of the most powerful human devil hunters, maintaining multiple contracts simultaneously. His Curse Devil contract allows him to summon a massive cursed nail that can potentially kill any target with three strikes. The Future Devil grants him precognition in combat, making him nearly untouchable. Combined with the Fox Devil's consumption ability, Aki's versatile contract set makes him dangerous against a wide range of opponents.

Kishibe is widely regarded as the strongest human devil hunter alive. With decades of experience, he has survived encounters with some of the most dangerous devils including the Darkness Devil. He trains Power and later mentors Denji. His combat prowess comes from sheer experience, tactical genius, and multiple devil contracts. Kishibe is so skilled that Makima considered him a genuine threat, which is exceptionally rare for a human in her eyes.
Devil: Crossbow Devil
Quanxi is the first known female hybrid, contracting with the Crossbow Devil. She can transform her fingers into crossbow bolts that she fires with deadly accuracy. Like all hybrids, she possesses complete regeneration. Quanxi is a former Public Safety Devil Hunter who later becomes an assassin. Her speed and precision make her one of the most dangerous hybrid fighters, capable of taking on multiple devil hunters simultaneously without effort.
Devil: Bomb Devil
Reze is the Bomb Devil hybrid and a Soviet agent sent to retrieve Denji's heart. She can detonate parts of her body at will, creating massive explosions that devastate entire buildings. As a hybrid, she regenerates from virtually any injury. Her combat style combines explosive attacks with agile martial arts, making her devastating at any range. Reze is one of the few characters who genuinely connected with Denji on an emotional level.
Devil: Chainsaw Devil (Pochita)
Denji is the protagonist and the Chainsaw Man hybrid. By pulling his chest cord, he transforms into a human-chainsaw hybrid with blades protruding from his head and arms. His chainsaws can tear through almost anything, and his hybrid regeneration makes him nearly immortal in combat. While not as powerful as Pochita's full form, Denji's determination and adaptability have allowed him to defeat enemies far stronger than himself through sheer tenacity.
Contract: Doll Devil + Darkness Devil
Santa Claus is the main antagonist of the International Assassins arc and one of the most dangerous characters in Chainsaw Man. Contracting with the Doll Devil, she can transform any human she touches into a mindless doll under her control. She later makes a contract with the Darkness Devil itself, gaining the ability to teleport and command hell's powers. Her schemes and multiple bodies make her exceptionally difficult to permanently eliminate.
Devil: War Devil
Yoru is the War Devil and one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. She possesses the ability to turn anything she considers her belonging into weapons, with the transformation's power proportional to the owner's attachment to the item. As a primordial-level devil, she is one of the most powerful entities in Chainsaw Man's Part 2. She shares a body with Asa Mitaka, creating a complex dual-consciousness dynamic that limits her full potential.
Devil: Falling Devil (Primordial)
The Falling Devil is a primordial devil representing humanity's primal fear of falling. As an ancient and immensely powerful devil, she can induce vertigo and gravity-based attacks on her opponents. She appears in Chainsaw Man Part 2 as a significant threat, demonstrating that primordial devils operate on a completely different level from regular devils. Her power is rooted in one of the most fundamental human fears, making her exceptionally strong.
Devil: Gun Devil
The Gun Devil is one of the most destructive devils in the series, having killed 1.2 million people worldwide in just 5 minutes. Its power is derived from humanity's widespread fear of guns, making it exceptionally potent in modern society. Even a small fraction of the Gun Devil's flesh can grant enormous power to contract holders. The Gun Devil's rampage shaped the entire world of Chainsaw Man, leading to international arms treaties and permanent global changes.
Devil: Control Devil (Four Horsemen)
Makima is the Control Devil, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, and the primary antagonist of Part 1. She can dominate any being she deems inferior to her, controlling their actions completely. Her contract with the Prime Minister of Japan redirects any fatal damage to a random Japanese citizen, effectively making her immortal. Makima's strategic genius and manipulation skills make her one of the most dangerous characters, capable of orchestrating events on a global scale.
Devil: Darkness Devil (Primordial)
The Darkness Devil is a primordial devil representing humanity's primal fear of the dark. It resides in hell and is one of the most terrifying entities in the series. Its presence alone induces paralysis and dread in even the strongest characters. The Darkness Devil can teleport, manipulate its environment, and attack with massive flaming crosses. It effortlessly overpowered multiple devil hunters simultaneously and forced even Makima to retreat. It commands absolute authority in hell.
Devil: Chainsaw Devil (Original)
Pochita, the original Chainsaw Devil, is the single most powerful entity in the Chainsaw Man universe. Known as the Hero of Hell, Pochita was so feared that devils in hell would pray to him. His most terrifying ability is the power to erase concepts from existence — any devil he consumes is permanently erased from reality, along with the fear associated with it. Pochita's true form is a monstrous entity with chainsaws covering his entire body, capable of fighting entire armies of hell's strongest devils single-handedly.
Pochita (the original Chainsaw Devil) is widely considered the strongest character in Chainsaw Man. Known as the Hero of Hell, Pochita is so feared that devils in hell pray to him. The Darkness Devil, a primordial fear entity, and Makima with her Control Devil powers are also among the most powerful beings in the series.
Denji is not inherently stronger than Makima. Makima's Control Devil ability allows her to dominate anyone she deems inferior. Denji only defeated Makima by exploiting a loophole in her contract with the Prime Minister of Japan, requiring Pochita's help and impossible regeneration to outlast her.
