Quanxi Overview
Quanxi is the legendary First Devil Hunter from China and a Crossbow Devil hybrid, widely considered the most powerful combatant in the Chainsaw Man universe who is not a Horseman or primordial devil. Her title as the "first" devil hunter refers to her being the oldest and most experienced hunter in existence, having survived for what appears to be centuries through her hybrid immortality. She is accompanied by four female fiends who serve as her lovers and combat partners.
Quanxi's combat ability operates on a fundamentally different level from every other character. She can move fast enough to kill dozens of trained devil hunters before they can react, and her crossbow arrows travel with such speed and precision that they are essentially unavoidable. She is one of the few characters who has consistently defeated Denji in combat, treating him as a mild inconvenience rather than a threat. Her only defeat comes through Makima's ability to control anyone she perceives as inferior, which tragically requires Quanxi to witness the death of her lovers to break her will.
Crossbow Devil Abilities
As a Crossbow Devil hybrid, Quanxi can transform her arms into crossbows capable of firing arrows with devastating speed and accuracy. Her arrows can pierce through multiple targets and are nearly instantaneous in their delivery. Her hybrid physiology grants her superhuman speed, strength, and complete immortality through blood consumption. She has survived decapitation and regenerated fully.
Her most distinctive combat trait is her speed, which far exceeds any other hybrid or devil hunter. She can cross battlefields and execute targets before sound reaches their ears. This speed is not magic but rather the product of centuries of accumulated combat experience, honed reflexes, and the Crossbow Devil's enhancement of her natural physical capabilities. International Assassins Arc
Quanxi is dispatched by the Chinese government during the International Assassins Arc to capture Denji's heart. She treats the mission with visible boredom, viewing it as beneath her abilities. During her confrontation with Kishibe, her history as his former lover and partner is revealed. Kishibe is the only human she respects, and their battle is more a conversation than a fight, with Kishibe knowing he cannot win but fighting anyway to delay her.
Makima defeats Quanxi not through combat but through psychological warfare. She kills Quanxi's fiend lovers one by one, breaking Quanxi's will until she perceives herself as inferior, allowing Makima to assert control. Quanxi then becomes one of Makima's controlled weapons, her legendary power turned against the very people she once protected. Her fate represents the ultimate tragedy of the series: even the strongest warrior is vulnerable not through lack of power but through having something to lose.
